December Graduation’s Commencement Address is Worth Sharing

December 20, 2013 // Oak Point University

At December’s graduation ceremony, Oak Point University was lucky enough to have Alice Teisan, BSN, RN give the commencement address. Alice Teisan is an alumna from the class of 1984. She grew up with a love of biking, and has cycled 10,000 miles over four continents. This includes biking from coast to coast across America twice. In 1992, days before a 1,000-mile bicycle trip, Alice began experiencing flu-like symptoms, and was later diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

Due to CFS, Alice was no longer able to work as a full-time nurse. From a caring heart and a passion for cycling, Alice started an organization called His Wheels International in 2005, which produces and donates hand-pedaled tricycles to disabled people across the world. The tricycles have been assembled on five continents. The commencement address provided inspiration to the graduates, and is worth sharing.
