On Monday, April 3 Oak Point alumnus and faculty member, Professor Christopher Galloway, MSN, APN, FNP-BC, MOT appeared on Fox News Chicago to promote the Men in Nursing panel which took place at Oak Point University on Saturday, April 8. Professor Galloway proved that men can be gentle and compassionate in patient care and highlighted the growing demand for nurses over the next ten years.

On Wednesday, April 5 alumni Zain Rehman BSN, RN, CCRN-CMC ’10 and Brian Medley BSN ’16 spoke to ABC 7’s Ravi Baichwal about how nursing has become one of the fastest growing healthcare careers for men and its appeal to individuals looking to make a career change.

The annual Thinking Out Loud Speaker Series: Men in Nursing symposium featured an all-male panel of alumni and students who discussed their career experiences and the stigmas attached to being a male nurse in today’s healthcare environment. The two-hour program included a Q&A session where guests were able to ask advice from practicing RNs, hear about the BSN program from the student perspective and afterwards, were treated to a tour of the Oak Point campus and Sim Lab.
