National Recognition for Student Group

April 1, 2014 // Oak Point University

It is with great excitement that Oak Point University announces the achievements of some chosen students in the Oak Point University Student Nurse Association (RUSNA). The student group will present three posters at the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) national convention in Nashville, TN on April 9-12. In addition to this achievement, Aric Shimek the RUSNA Vice President and BSN pre-licensure student will be receiving a scholarship during the opening ceremony of the convention.

Two of the posters present original research conducted by RUSNA students and the faculty advisor, Nance Reese. The other poster describes the Active Research Day event that RUSNA has hosted three times over the past three years.

RUSNA students Angela Vo, Angie Machniak, and Amy Crippen are also attending the convention to present one of the posters. Aric Shimek is also traveling to the convention to receive his award and to assist in presenting the posters.

This is a wonderful accomplishment for the student group. The national recognition is well-deserved, and RUSNA is sure to continue to receive similar recognitions for the dedicated group of students.
