Tamara Bland on Fox TV News

February 8, 2017 // Oak Point University

On Monday, February 6, Professor Tamara Bland was interviewed live on WFLD Fox during the mid-day news to talk about African Americans in nursing in honor of Black History Month. Bland talked about the significant presence of African American nurses throughout the course of history, including a few famous celebrities. She also discussed the growing need for nurses with the increase in retiring baby boomers and that nurses come from all walks of life and backgrounds, but most generally carry the innate sense of compassion and the desire to care for others. Watch the full clip of her interview here.

Note: Tamara Bland is a professor and the Chair Person for the BSN Program. Fox News wrongly depicted her as the Dean of Nursing.
