Admissions Welcome
Your First Step Towards a Degree from Oak Point University Begins Here
Welcome to Oak Point University Admissions. The first steps of your journey toward a degree and a career in healthcare begin here. As you will notice, Oak Point is a University that specializes in the Health Sciences only. We feature two schools:
- The College of Nursing – Featuring undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in Nursing.
- The College of Health Sciences – Featuring undergraduate programs in Radiography.
When it comes to our undergraduate programs, there is one important aspect you should know: Oak Point University is an “upper division” or “transfer” university. The best way to view us is that we are like the final two years (junior and senior years) of a four year university. Thus, we only have upper-division classes specific to your program of interest. In other words, if you are interested in the Nursing program, you will only take Nursing classes at Oak Point. For admission into our undergraduate programs, you will need to take general education and other program pre-requisites, or what is equivalent to your freshman and sophomore years, at another regionally-accredited institution like a community or junior college and transfer in those classes and credits.
Get ready to explore the possibilities. We strongly encourage you to explore Oak Point’s program offerings to see which fits your interests. When you have a specific program in mind, we invite you to create your personal Oak Point view book by filling out our Inquiry Form. Here, you will have the opportunity to customize the information that is specific to your needs on a website created just for you. In this view book you will learn about Oak Point’s programs and about the process for meeting an admissions counselor, financial aid options, and how to transfer in your credits. You will also apply to the school in your view book. Essentially, you will have all the information you need to become a Oak Point student!
If you are still not sure which direction to go, please feel free to contact us at: admissions@oakpoint.edu or call 773-252-5389. We look forward to working with you!
