Growing Up in Africa Inspired Diane to Become a Nurse
I wanted to become a nurse when I was just a little girl. My parents were missionaries; I grew up and was born in Timbuktu, Mali, West Africa. We would go out along the riverbanks and minister to the patients and the people. And I would see such heartbreaking scenes of people that needed medical care. And so, I always, always thought when I get older, I’m going to come back and help these people. So that was kind of the beginning of my wish.
Diane’s Nonprofit Coordinates Medical Missions

Being a Badass Is Working Outside Your Comfort Zone
My sweet husband nominated me, and he has been my biggest supporter for years. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate him supporting my dreams and my opportunity to be a badass. Being a badass nurse makes me feel as if I have the capability of leaving my comfort zone here in the United States and going to foreign countries and working outside the box.
I love nursing, I always have loved nursing. I know there aren’t any other careers that you can actually change someone’s life so dramatically.
My name is Diane Cable, and I am a badass nurse.
