MAP Funding is Important to Oak Point Students
The State of Illinois’ student financial aid program, the Monetary Assistance Program (MAP), has not yet been funded for the current year. The Illinois General Assembly passed Senate Bill (SB) 2043, which would have funded MAP grants at $397 million, but in February, Governor Bruce Rauner vetoed the bill.
Oak Point has included MAP grant awards in the financial aid packages for all qualifying students with the expectation that the state will fund the program at some point. However, we need your assistance to be sure the state understands the importance of the funds.
Join the #MAPMatters Campaign
If you receive a MAP grant, we are calling on you to share your own story with the state legislature. Let them know how important MAP grants are as you pursue your education at Oak Point.
This is a statewide campaign, and you will be joining thousands of other Illinois students from colleges and universities all around the state.
