Masters in Nursing

Nurse practitioners hold advanced degrees and are nationally certified advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who provide a full range of primary, acute, and specialty care services. They work both autonomously and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals in settings that range from large hospitals to small independent clinical practices. Our graduate program will help you develop the expert knowledge base, decision-making skills, and clinical competencies needed to provide the highest quality patient care.

The Nurse Practitioner program (MSN-NP) offers two program tracks: Adult Gerontology NP and Family Health NP. Both tracks are 48 semester hours in length, and may be completed in six semesters, or two years. This program begins in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
The Nurse Educator program (MSN-NE) puts you in a position to teach, mentor, and inspire future nursing professionals. The program is 40 semester hours in length, and may be completed in just over two academic years. The MSN-NE program starts in the Fall semester.
ResU assists all MSN students with clinical placement.

Resurrection University was founded as the West Suburban School of Nursing in 1914, and has enjoyed a rich history of preparing students for professional healthcare careers for over a century. Today, Resurrection University is a fully-accredited, not-for-profit University focused on nursing and health sciences. ResU offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in nursing and undergraduate degree programs in radiography.

The University is located in the heart of Chicago’s historic Wicker Park neighborhood. The campus is LEED certified (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) and includes 44 offices, 10 classrooms and a 6,200 square-foot, state-of-the-art Inter-Professional Simulation Learning Center.
