Certified Nursing Assistant

Earn While You Learn to Become a Certified Nursing Assistant

Career Accelerator Program

Oak Point University and our healthcare partners are investing in you and your community with our Career Accelerator Program (CAP). This unique program provides a fast track to educate, certify, and employ certified nursing assistants (CNAs) while you earn an income and get benefits.

Our CAP takes some of the burdens of decision-making off of you. You will earn a paycheck and get benefits while you are in school. Oh, and school is free. Why? Because the healthcare industry needs people like you. The Baby Boomers are retiring, and others are getting promoted. And as the Boomers need more care in their golden years, the entire healthcare system is still stressed by COVID-19.

The best part? A job is waiting for you in a high-demand and high-growth industry!

Your Role as a Certified Nursing Assistant

What Is a Certified Nursing Assistant?

A certified nursing assistant uses skills to assist nurses in the care of patients across a wide variety of healthcare settings providing basic bedside care and assistance in eating, dressing, and bathing.

What Do CNAs Learn?

Classes cover basic patient care, infection control, nutrition, anatomy, communications and documentation, safety and emergency procedures, and patient rights. CNAs also receive hands-on training in performing basic nursing tasks such as taking vital signs, moving patients, and providing personal care.

What Do CNAs Do?

CNAs provide direct care to patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and home care. As a vital part of a larger care team, CNAs help patients with a wide range of basic needs, including eating, bathing, grooming, mobility, and more.

Who Can Apply?

Anyone with a bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical or biological sciences.
